Sr Solutions Engineer - Public (tokyo)

F5 is seeking a Sr. Solutions Engineer to support sales efforts by providing technical expertise on F5's application security and networking solutions to customers and partners. This role involves understanding customer business needs, proposing solutions, delivering technical presentations and demonstrations, and building strong relationships within the public sector and social infrastructure domains in Japan.

What you'd actually do

  1. This role will focus on public customers and F5 partners
  2. Articulate the F5 product strategy, messaging and positioning F5’s value proposition and solutions for customer business objectives
  3. Provide technical expertise through sales presentations, solution designs, solution demonstrations, proof of concepts by various mediums – in-person/virtual presentations, white boards
  4. Determine viability of opportunity and map out organizational structure
  5. Drive the sales process in partnership with the Account Manager (Sales), by identifying the Technical Decision Maker, getting their technical validation, support, and sponsorship

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of related industry and work experience, familiarity/experience with F5 or similar industry solution deployment
  • Experience as pre-sales engineer in IT industry
  • Experience in Web Application Security
  • Able to read and write in English
  • Short and long business trip especially around Japan area is required frequently

Nice to have

  • Experience in one or more programming languages (Python, JavaScript, etc.) is a plus
  • Experience in secure Cloud architectures and multi-cloud design is a plus
  • Able to work with one or more public/private cloud vendors and automation toolsets is a plus
  • Experience with container orchestration solutions (eg: OpenShift, Kubernetes) is a plus
  • Experience with public cloud and proposal/system construction is a plus
  • Engagement with central government and social infrastructure customers and partners in the East Japan area is a plus
