Emerging Technology Architect ( Innovation Service)
We are seeking a forward-looking Emerging Technology Architect to join our CDNA Strategy & Architecture team. This role will focus on identifying, evaluating, and operationalizing emerging technologies—including Agentic AI, Data Context Layer, unstructured/semantic data layers, and next-generation data integration paradigms—to drive competitive advantage and enterprise innovation. The architect will act as a bridge between external innovation signals and internal adoption by translating trends into actionable architecture, PoCs, and executive insights.
Responsibilities
- Continuously track and synthesize insights from analyst firms such as Gartner and Forrester to identify relevant technology trends.
- Analyze competitor capabilities across data, AI, and platform ecosystems to benchmark CDNA maturity.
- Translate analyst insights into clear, actionable recommendations aligned with enterprise priorities.
- Leverage frameworks such as AI opportunity mapping and innovation radar concepts to guide strategic decisions.
- Develop and deliver quarterly innovation briefs for leadership, highlighting key technology trends, competitive positioning, and emerging risks and opportunities.
- Present insights in an executive-ready format linking innovation to business value and outcomes.
- Provide thought leadership on where CDNA should invest, experiment, or scale.
- Build and maintain a CDNA Technology Radar covering emerging, mainstream, contained, and deprecated technologies.
- Align radar with enterprise processes for technology lifecycle management and adoption progression.
- Define criteria for moving technologies from exploration to pilot, scale, and standardization.
- Lead and/or coordinate PoCs and POVs in key innovation domains such as unstructured and semantic data layers, Linked Data Interfaces (LDIs), and Agentic AI and autonomous systems.
- Work with engineering and product teams to assess feasibility, scalability, and enterprise fit.
- Develop clear evaluation frameworks and success metrics for each PoC.
- Translate successful PoCs into reference architectures, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles, governance, and interoperability standards.
- Contribute to the evolution of EA Innovation Services and CDNA architecture blueprints.
- Work extremely closely with EA Innovation Services, Enterprise Architecture leadership, product architecture teams, engineering teams, and data & AI platform leads.
- Act as a connector between EA, CDNA, and product teams to ensure innovation adoption.
- Present emerging technology insights and recommendations to senior leadership, architecture review boards, and product and platform stakeholders.
- Drive alignment on innovation priorities and investment decisions.
- Facilitate workshops, innovation reviews, and strategic discussions.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Significant experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or innovation roles.
- Proven ability to evaluate and apply emerging technologies in enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of data & analytics architectures, AI/ML and emerging Agentic AI paradigms, unstructured data processing, and semantic/knowledge graph concepts.
- Experience with PoC/POV development and evaluation frameworks.
- Experience with technology trend analysis and innovation scouting.
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and innovation lifecycle processes.
Preferred
- Experience working with analyst firms (e.g., Gartner, Forrester) and interpreting research insights.
- Exposure to data fabrics, data mesh, or semantic layers.
- Exposure to decision intelligence systems or advanced analytics ecosystems.
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g., life sciences, healthcare).
