Sr Staff Mission Assurance Engineer - Regulatory Compliance

This role is for a Sr Staff Mission Assurance Engineer focused on regulatory compliance within the defense industry. The engineer will act as a technical authority on quality system compliance, regulatory requirements, and customer mandates, partnering across departments to ensure adherence to industry regulations and standards. Responsibilities include conducting gap analyses, supporting proposals, evaluating customer requirements, mentoring personnel on regulations, and resolving complex interpretation issues. A STEM Bachelor's degree with 14 years of experience, experience in design/manufacturing or technology, project management, proposal development, contract negotiation, conflict resolution, and knowledge of aerospace/manufacturing standards are required. An active U.S. Government Secret Clearance is also mandatory.

What you'd actually do

  1. Conduct comprehensive regulatory gap analyses and maturity assessments for the Quality Management System (QMS)
  2. Actively support proposals to ensure appropriate interpretation of regulatory and contractual requirements
  3. Evaluation of the organization’s ability to meet all customer requirements.
  4. Support negotiations of terms and conditions with respect to regulatory flowdowns
  5. Cross-functionally mentor and train personnel on regulatory requirements

Skills

Required

  • STEM Bachelor's degree with 14 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree and 12 years of relevant experience, or a PhD and 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in design and manufacturing, or technology environment
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects
  • Experience with proposal development and contract negotiation
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate teams through conflict resolution
  • Experience with multiple industry standards across aerospace and manufacturing
  • Strong facilitation skills leading workshops and VSM sessions
  • Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance
  • U.S Citizenship Required
