This role is a Sr. Staff Technical Lead for a Bechtel subcontract within Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems sector, focusing on managing supplier technical efforts, ensuring technical rigor, and aligning supplier activities with program baselines. It involves developing Statements of Work, evaluating proposals, approving technical deliverables, and managing technical risks within cost and schedule constraints. The role requires significant experience in STEM, systems engineering, construction management, and supplier management, along with a Secret clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Partner with the Program Element and Segment Executives, Global Supply Chain, Mission Assurance, Office of the Chief Engineer, and lead a cross-functional technical team of various systems engineering disciplines managing major supplier efforts focusing on technical excellence and technical rigor.
  2. Primary job responsibilities are leading the technical oversite for Bechtel as the main engineering point of contact for the Program. This includes aligning supplier technical activities with overall program technical baseline and verifying supplier technical deliverables are successfully integrated:
  3. Develop Bechtel Statements of Work (SSOW) through collaboration with key technical and programmatic stakeholders.
  4. Assists Program and Supplier Management Team Lead (SMTL) in generating technical content for Bechtel Request for Information (RFIs) / Request for Proposals (RFPs) / etc.
  5. Responsible for Bechtel proposal technical evaluations and supports program and supplier management team lead (SMTL) in negotiations.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM
  • 14 years’ experience (or 12 with Masters', 10 with PhD)
  • U.S. Citizen
  • DoD Secret (or higher) clearance
  • background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR)
  • 2 years of experience working in construction management
  • 4 years of experience with the systems engineering “V”
  • 4 years of experience in managing a technical baseline
  • 4 years of experience working with technology Supplier Name supports
  • 2 years of experience ensuring requirements changes and flow-downs to subcontractors are compliant
  • 1 year of experience working with DOORS, CPLM, and other management tools

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Prior Supplier Management Experience on a Program in the Development phase
