This role is for a Sr Strategic Sourcing Manager within AWS Infrastructure Services, focusing on managing relationships with strategic partners who design and manufacture hardware for AWS servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling. The individual will be responsible for cost, performance, contracting, and strategy, collaborating with cross-functional teams including hardware engineering, supply chain, and operations. The role involves negotiating complex agreements, developing sourcing strategies, and influencing senior leadership. While the role interacts with partners involved in generative AI hardware, the core function is strategic sourcing and supply chain management, not AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Function as the single threaded relationship manager for a strategic supply partner that provides design, development, manufacturing and integration services for AWS servers and server rack integration.
  2. Matrix manage all aspects of supplier performance including cost, quality, capacity, delivery, compliance, sustainability and overall supply strategy.
  3. Negotiate and execute complex supplier agreements, statements of work and other contracts by working with cross-functional leads.
  4. Partner with cross functional teams to deliver RFPs, evaluate vendor responses and align on business awards.
  5. Deliver AWS’s cost objectives through detailed understanding of all cost drivers and bill of material reviews.
