Sr Technical Product Manager, Robotics at Johnson & Johnson in Santa Clara, CA. Responsible for defining and delivering the technical vision for products in the surgical robotics space, collaborating with R&D leaders and engineers to develop innovative technical product roadmaps. Manages technical project timelines, sets sprint goals, and mitigates program risks. Drives end-to-end execution of cross-functional R&D initiatives using Agile and program management practices. Requires 10+ years of professional work experience in product development, with 5+ years in engineering, program, or product management. Experience in complex systems, regulated industries, and software/hardware development is preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the product roadmap and platform backlog, including feature intake, prioritization, grooming, and readiness, ensuring alignment with business goals, customer needs, technical strategy, and delivery capacity.
  2. Translate roadmap priorities into executable plans by defining quarterly objectives, developing coordinated delivery plans, and maintaining backlogs that connect long‑range strategy to day‑to‑day execution.
  3. Drive end‑to‑end execution of cross‑functional R&D initiatives by tracking work against commitments, managing dependencies and risks, and ensuring predictable delivery across the product development lifecycle—from concept through design transfer and release.
  4. Lead planning, tracking, and execution cadence using Agile and program management practices (e.g., sprint planning, reviews, dependency management), leveraging these mechanisms to implement the roadmap rather than serving as a dedicated Scrum Master or standalone Program Manager.
  5. Partner closely with engineering, product management, clinical, and functional leaders to align scope, priorities, and timelines, proactively surface tradeoffs, and resolve execution blockers.
