Amazon's Global Procurement Organization is on a mission to transform how procurement works at Amazon scale. We build the technology that powers billions of dollars in purchasing decisions, and We're looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead the delivery of technical solutions and programs focused on inventory management of non-inventory supplies across Amazon's global operations. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of technology, operations, and business strategy — where your work directly influences how Amazon procures and manages supplies at scale.
In this role, you will:
- Own and drive complex, cross-functional programs that modernize how non-inventory supplies are managed across Amazon's global network of sites.
- Collaborate deeply with business partners and technology teams within the Operations business unit to ensure solutions integrate seamlessly with existing software and hardware deployed at Amazon Operations sites worldwide
- Actively participate in architecture and design discussions, leveraging a strong understanding of AWS services to drive the right technical decisions and trade-offs
- Independently identify and resolve integration challenges across external and internal teams, driving alignment without requiring constant escalation
- Champion the use of AI and machine learning tools to automate workflows, surface insights, and transform procurement technology
- Define program strategy, set objectives, manage roadmaps, and drive delivery across multiple engineering teams and organizations
- Proactively identify risks, clear blockers, and accelerate progress by driving crisp, timely decisions
- Communicate program status, trade-offs, and outcomes effectively to senior leadership including Directors and VPs
What We're Looking For:
Successful applicants will have experience developing functional and non-functional requirements, writing high-level technical designs, systems integration plans, and technical specifications. You are someone who thrives facilitating both business and technical meetings, partnering with resources outside of your immediate team to get things done, and navigating shifting priorities by scheduling and pivoting project plans as needed. You bring a track record of communicating status clearly, resolving risks proactively, removing barriers for engineering teams, leading cross-functional teams, and communicating effectively to a large number of stakeholders across multiple organizations.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-native architectures, and can hold their own in design reviews and technical deep dives. You have a strong grasp of AI and machine learning technologies and understand how to apply them to solve real-world operational problems. You are comfortable operating in ambiguity, bringing structure and clarity where none exists, and you have a bias for action that keeps programs moving forward. Above all, you are customer-obsessed — always working backwards from the needs of the business and the end user.

- Define and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of complex, cross-functional technology programs — from requirements gathering and design through build, launch, and iteration.
- Develop functional and non-functional requirements, high-level technical designs, systems integration plans, and technical specifications in partnership with engineering, product and business teams.
- Drive architecture and design discussions, applying deep knowledge of AWS services and AI to evaluate trade-offs, challenge assumptions, and ensure solutions are scalable, secure, AI-driven and operationally sound.
- Lead integration efforts with existing software and hardware systems deployed across Amazon sites, independently resolving cross-team technical challenges and driving alignment across organizations.
- Manage program roadmaps, milestones, and dependencies across multiple engineering teams. Proactively identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and remove barriers to keep delivery on track.
- Facilitate business and technical meetings, driving crisp decisions and ensuring the right people are in the room at the right time.
- Communicate program status, risks, trade-offs, and outcomes to a broad set of stakeholders — from engineering teams to Directors and VPs — through clear written narratives and verbal updates.
- Schedule and pivot project plans as priorities shift, balancing short-term delivery needs against long-term strategic goals.
- Drive process improvements that increase the speed and quality of delivery across teams, streamlining mechanisms and eliminating unnecessary overhead.
- Drive the expansion and scaling of existing products within your program portfolio into new regions, business lines, or use cases — identifying growth opportunities, building the business case, and leading cross-functional execution to broaden impact.
About the team Global Procurement Technology is the technical force behind Amazon's Global Procurement Organization. We build the tools and systems that power procurement across Amazon — a function that forms the backbone of the company's operations. Our team sets the technology strategy for the business, driving its AI transformation by embedding intelligent automation, machine learning, and data-driven capabilities into every layer of the procurement experience. We partner closely with business teams to modernize systems, simplify complex workflows, and deliver scalable solutions that help Amazon procure smarter, faster, and more efficiently at global scale.
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience leading highly technical programs involving infrastructure, complex systems, systems engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
- Experience working with or evaluating AI systems
- 3+ years of technical specialist, design and architecture experience, or AWS Professional level certification
