Databricks is seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager for their Professional Services team, focusing on Financial Services customers. The role involves leading complex customer engagements, guiding technical teams, managing project scope, schedule, budget, and risk, and acting as a primary escalation point for technical delivery issues. While not a hands-on coding role, strong technical acumen is required to guide architectural decisions and mitigate risks. Experience with BI, data management, and big data technologies is preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Be responsible for the successful delivery of our most complex customer engagements by providing technical leadership and guidance to the implementation team.
  2. Guide technical teams through key architectural decisions, helping them navigate trade-offs between established and innovative approaches.
  3. Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks and dependencies that could impact project timelines and goals.
  4. Individually deliver on commitments by producing high-quality deliverables, status reports, program plans, and customer responses that require minimal rework.
  5. Effectively manage all aspects of a program, including scope, schedule, budget, risk, and resources, with a focus on technical complexity.
