Sr Transportation Analyst, Domestic

This role focuses on financial analysis and budgeting for domestic transportation within a retail company. What you'd actually do

  1. Working with the Vice President, Logistics & Distribution and the Directors, of Domestic Transportation and International Logistics and appropriate Finance personnel, incumbent will lead the physical assimilation of information and data to build and validate the annual transportation budgets.
  2. Incumbent will be responsible for the weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual review of actual performance versus plan and/or budget.
  3. Responsible for the proper application of rates, accessorial charges, incremental charges and establishment and accuracy of all pertinent data needed to effectively and efficiently operate the Transportation Management System.
  4. Analyze and determine appropriate terms of sale and corresponding reductions in cost of goods sold to offset the cost of transportation in the conversion of terms of sale from “delivered” or “prepaid & add” to the desired level of F.O.B. Origin and that proper procedures and processes are in place to assure that proper charges and credits are gained through these changes in terms of freight charges.
  5. Interface with senior management to determine analytic and reporting needs.
