Staff Aeronautical Engineer - Hydraulics Responsible Engineer at Northrop Grumman. What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as the subject matter expert for the hydraulics subsystem.
  2. Lead a small team that defines and champions system improvement initiatives as they become necessary.
  3. Serve as an engineering representative in the supplier management team for all suppliers providing components of the subsystem.
  4. Perform system analysis as needed to serve specialty engineering needs.
  5. Define and document changes and revisions to the subsystem

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience
  • Experience working with diverse technical teams and leading others
  • Experience working with aeronautic hydraulic systems
  • Knowledge of design, analysis and/or engineering tools development
  • Proficient with typical office toolsets such as Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient at locating and examining technical data from Computer Aided Design
  • Experience using CATIA V5 to examine 3D models
  • Must have an active US Government Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) with the ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs

Nice to have

  • Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
  • Active US Government Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • Experience working on Special Access Programs
  • Experience with hydraulic system design and analysis
  • Experience applying Siemens AMESIM, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar analysis tools to hydraulic subsystems
