Staff Commercial Product Manager, Trucking

Waabi Waabi · Robotics · San Francisco, CA +1 · Commercial Products

Product Manager for Waabi's commercial autonomous trucking product, focusing on defining and scaling the operating models, service capabilities, and customer-facing requirements to bring the Waabi Driver to market and expand its network. This role bridges autonomy, operations, and business development to turn driverless technology into a deployable, scalable, and valuable commercial product.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define the "how" behind novel autonomous trucking challenges through process mapping, operating model design, requirements definition, and cross-functional alignment.
  2. Translate customer, operations, autonomy, and business needs into clear product requirements and deployment plans.
  3. Build structured frameworks for site readiness, service design, partner integration, customer onboarding, launch readiness, and operational scalability.
  4. Build repeatable pilot-to-scale playbooks that move customers, lanes, and sites from pilot to qualified, mature, and driverless-ready deployments.
  5. Lead cross-functional workstreams with autonomy, operations, engineering, business development, safety, legal, and external partners.

Skills

Required

  • 8+ years in product management, operations, strategy, or program leadership in a complex technical/operational environment (autonomous vehicles, trucking, freight, logistics, robotics, or other physical-AI deployment)
  • Demonstrated experience standing up an operating model from scratch in a physical-world business — services + workflows + tools, not just software
  • Track record of designing, launching, or scaling complex B2B products, services, programs, or operating models
  • Strong systems thinking and first-principles judgment — able to break ambiguous problems into clear frameworks, requirements, decisions, and execution plans
  • Track record of leading cross-functional initiatives without formal authority
  • Executive-grade written and verbal communication
  • High EQ, low ego, and bias toward ownership and action

Nice to have

  • Experience with B2B enterprise customers, strategic partnerships, OEMs, or service provider ecosystems
  • Experience designing operational processes, customer onboarding flows, service models, or scaled deployment playbooks
  • Zero-to-one product or program experience at an early-stage or scaling startup
  • Direct experience in autonomous trucking, freight tech, or AV commercialization (vs. adjacent physical-AI domains)
  • Track record of owning end-to-end outcomes, not just deliverables (e.g., business unit, product line, or service area ownership).
  • Experience working with internal or outsourced operations teams
  • Experience standing up or scaling a Command Center, NOC, fleet operations function, or similar
