Staff Component Engineer at Northrop Grumman responsible for managing and selecting electronic components for programs, resolving obsolescence and long lead time issues, ensuring parts standardization, and leading component teams. What you'd actually do

  1. Prepare and review all data necessary for Program Design Team and/or Configuration Control Board (CCB) review including generation/review of applicable screening and qualification test plans
  2. Analyze and select alternates for electronic components on Bills of Material (BOM) to resolve obsolescence, long lead time issues, and drive parts standardization
  3. Assist with DMS/EOL identification and notification
  4. Responsible for all components used on the program and document program specific part requirements
  5. Lead new Component Request approvals, and Component Drawing development as appropriate to meet requesting program requirements

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of experience, Master's with 10, Ph.D. with 8 in technical fields
  • U.S Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
  • Component selection, qualification, and application in electronic or mechanical systems
  • Component Engineer experience with semiconductor and RF-related components

Nice to have

  • Current/active DoD Secret clearance
  • Developing Electronic Part specifications
  • Siemen’s Teamcenter or similar PLM systems
  • Regulatory compliance (Specialty Metals, Counterfeit Part Prevention, Conflict Minerals)
  • Industry/military standards (JEDEC, Mil-STD-883)
  • Working with cross-functional teams (Design Engineering, Manufacturing & Production Engineering, Quality Engineering, Supply Chain and Procurement)
