Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Electronic Warfare (EW) Responsible Engineer in Melbourne, FL to lead the development, integration, and testing of EW subsystems for airborne platforms. The role involves requirements management, performance analysis, trade studies, risk assessment, and collaboration with internal teams, suppliers, and customers. The position requires a Secret clearance and experience with RF equipment and system engineering design methods.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead and/or support development and integration of electronic warfare subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives
  2. Requirements development, analysis, maturation and implementation, translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  3. Performing functional and performance analyses
  4. Conducting detailed trade studies,
  5. Performing risk analysis and developing mitigation plans and tracking to closure

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 12 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 10 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 8 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
  • Knowledge of electromagnetics in the RF spectrum (VHF through Ka bands)
  • Experience designing, developing, integrating, and/or testing RF equipment for airborne platforms.
  • Experience implementing system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation and interface control documentation
  • Experience engaging directly with internal and external technical and programmatic representatives
  • Experience in supplier/subcontract management
  • Must have an active US Government Secret Clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

  • Experience in model-based systems engineering using Cameo or similar SysML tools
  • Experience with generating and managing requirements in DOORs
  • Experience in performance analysis using MATLAB and Excel or similar tools
  • Familiarity with Atlassian collaboration tool set (Jira and Confluence)
  • Experience with developing supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work
  • Experience building supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection
  • Ability to review documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design review
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
