This role focuses on developing and implementing automation methods and processes for engineering design, including conceptual design, detailed design, and production release. It involves using tools like Catia and Enovia, creating CAD surfaces, managing component information, and developing knowledge-based automations and training materials. The goal is to improve efficiency and consistency in the design and release process.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead overall process for new method identification and development to ensure clear and cohesive methods across all vehicle commodities
  2. Develop, test and implement knowledge and rule based design automations
  3. Architect and deploy automations
  4. Create and deliver training material
  5. Interface with PLM, IT, Manufacturing and Engineering to ensure end to end efficiency

Skills

Required

  • 5 plus years of experience in Engineering design and Release
  • Applied experience in the automotive design and development process, system requirements, and engineering best practices
  • Experience in method and process development and training
  • Experience in the production part release process
  • High level of expertise and proficiency with Catia, Enovia, Visual Scripting or similar tools including drawing and modelling practices and methodologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • A system approach to design and development
