Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Engineer Electronics – Mission Data Processing Lead to define, design, integrate, test, and certify hardware and software requirements for mission processing and data storage. The role involves interpreting and allocating requirements, designing system models and architectures, performing hardware integration and testing, and collaborating with various teams and suppliers. Experience with model-based systems engineering and supplier management is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Interpret, allocate, tailor, write and flow down requirements to all levels of a system architecture
  2. Design and develop computer, network and system models and architectures
  3. perform hardware integration and testing, and requirements analysis and collaborate with Integrated Product Teams
  4. Conduct Trade studies, documenting subsystem architectures, analyzing performance, and evaluating Technology Readiness Level (TRL) regarding supplier current and future products offerings
  5. Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams and specifications

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline
  • 12 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering (or Master's with 10 years, or Ph.D. with 8 years)
  • Experience developing model-based systems engineering products and/or Mission Engineering in Cameo or similar tools
  • Experience in supplier/subcontract management
  • Experience with developing supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work
  • Experience building supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection
  • Ability to review documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design review
  • Ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Top-Secret clearance

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with network, commercial cloud, platform infrastructures and containerized software architecture
  • Familiarity with Digital Engineering processes and environments
  • Knowledge and experience with the definition of MOSA – Modular Open Systems Approach, and interfaces definition, development, and control
  • Experience in integrating complex system across multiple domains
  • Experience demonstrating concepts to management and customers
