Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Survivability Engineer with expertise in hardware integration for developmental programs. The role involves requirements development, system design, supplier management, and testing of electrical components and systems, particularly in the RF spectrum for airborne platforms. Requires a Top Secret SCI clearance with SAP access.

What you'd actually do

  1. Requirements development, analysis, maturation, and implementation, translating customer requirements into hardware specifications
  2. Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate avionics and mission subsystems to meet platform mission objectives
  3. Work collaboratively with cross-disciplinary teams, including hardware, software, and firmware engineers
  4. Develop supplier documentation such as procurement specifications, and statements of work, and review artifacts from the supplier’s development effort
  5. Support development and integration of HW subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM discipline and 12 years of related professional/military experience, OR Master’s degree and 10 years, OR Ph.D. and 8 years
  • Knowledge of electromagnetics in the RF spectrum (VHF through Ka bands)
  • Experience in RF/EW applications
  • Experience in decomposing, deriving, allocating and tracing requirements from system to component level
  • Experience with developing supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work
  • Experience in supplier/subcontract management
  • Experience with working on a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience designing, developing, integrating, and/or testing RF equipment for airborne platforms
  • Knowledge of system engineering design methods
  • Active U.S. Government issued Top Secret SCI Security Clearance as well as Special Program Access (SAP)

Nice to have

  • Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to assimilate new concepts quickly and independently
  • Experience designing, developing, integrating, and/or testing EW or Radar subsystems for airborne platforms
  • Experience with RF antenna and component design and performance analysis
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in model-based systems engineering using Cameo or similar SysML tools
  • Experience with generating and managing requirements in DOORs
  • Experience in performance analysis using MATLAB and Excel or similar tools
  • Familiarity with Atlassian collaboration tool set (Jira and Confluence)
  • Experience building supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations
