Staff Engineering Technician

This role supports the operations of a new AFX Farm Lab, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of AFX systems and lab infrastructure. Responsibilities include lab operations, inventory management, AFX farm system management, and technical support. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently and collaboratively in a hardware/software development environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manage monthly PCard purchases and expense tracking.
  2. Assemble and set up new AFX Farm configurations with DC cards and devices.
  3. Write and run simple scripts for system automation or monitoring.

Skills

Required

  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux file systems
  • Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., bash, Python)
  • Experience in maintaining electronic hardware and lab equipment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, filtering, basic formulas)
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation practices
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have

  • Prior lab management or hardware technician experience
  • Knowledge of ESD compliance and lab safety procedures
  • Experience supporting system bring-up and device-level troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience with prototype bring-up and testing, including board-level validation, wire bonding, and soldering/rework tasks
