Staff Experience Designer for the Venmo core team at PayPal, responsible for shaping user experiences for millions of users. This role involves crafting end-to-end experiences, solving complex problems, and driving strategy and roadmap in collaboration with product and engineering partners. The designer will focus on P2P, growth, and groups experiences within the Venmo app.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop plans to enhance the user and customer experience across the digital and physical products and meet team performance
  2. Perform more-complex customer experiences that require highly specialized user interface and product design knowledge and advanced business expertise
  3. Lead some projects or programs within the product function and may coordinate activities of others
  4. Design process, product, and service improvements based on understanding of business needs and industry trends
  5. Determine methods and procedures on new assignments that may impact activities of others

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice to have

  • At least 5+ years working in product design, with a blend of UX and visual design strengths
  • Bachelors, Masters, or equivalent experience in one of the following areas: Design, Information Architecture, Human Factors, or equivalent project/portfolio experience
  • A portfolio of work, showcasing design excellence in delivering impactful business outcomes, and a high bar for craft
  • Experience working at either an agency or from within a consumer facing app
  • Mastery of product design methodology and lifecycle across significant channels and platforms
  • Customer-focused, with experience using design research methods to uncover customer insights
  • Effectively operates within an iterative design team, managing product design responsibilities against defined milestones and plans with little day-to-day oversight
  • Thorough knowledge of essential channels and platforms, with experience in mobile, dedicated, web and native solution design
  • Ability to work across design systems fluidly, and driving cohesion across related products and surfaces that span across the PayPal network
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Extensive experience working with resources such as pattern library, repositories, and internal communication tools
  • Solid mastery of Figma and prototyping tools
