Staff Fea Engineer

Oura Oura · Consumer · San Francisco, CA +1 · Hardware

Oura is seeking a Staff FEA Engineer to perform structural and dynamic simulations for their wearable devices, focusing on optimizing design, performance, reliability, and user comfort. The role involves FEA modeling, structural analysis, drop test simulation, optimization, correlation with test data, documentation, collaboration, and script development for automating FEA processes.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and validate FEA models of components and assemblies using appropriate software (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus).
  2. Perform linear and non-linear static and dynamic analyses to evaluate stress, strain, and deformation under various loading conditions
  3. Simulate drop test scenarios to evaluate product robustness and identify potential failure points.
  4. Use FEA results to guide design optimization and improve product performance, reliability, and weight.
  5. Help drive correlation of FEA results with physical test data to validate models and improve accuracy.
