Staff Financial Analyst responsible for developing indirect rates, analyzing actuals vs forecasts, providing financial forecasting support, and coordinating with government counterparts for an aerospace and defense company.

What you'd actually do

  1. Development of AS indirect rates through modeling, innovation, and execution of cost accounting methodologies
  2. Provide monthly review and analysis of the actual rates and cost incurred versus forecasts and provide variance explanations to the leadership team.
  3. Provide reports and financial forecasting support for Budgets, Rates, and Overhead Management
  4. Coordination with sector compliance and rate departments to ensure consistent approach and messaging to government counterparts
  5. Pull data from financial systems to support audit requests, monthly financial reports, fact-finding, and negotiation discussions related to the Forward Pricing Rate Proposal (FPRP) and other Sector audits

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree with 15 years of Finance, Accounting, and/or Business-related experience, or a Master's degree with 13 years of stated experience
  • intermediate to advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance

Nice to have

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business-related discipline
  • Experience with Financial and Business systems (COGNOS, SAP)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Expertise in financial analysis and financial forecasting in the Aerospace and Defense industry
  • ability to identify issues and problems and make recommendations to management for resolution or mitigation
  • Active US Government Secret Clearance
  • Knowledge of EVMS/FAR/DFARS
