Northrop Grumman Northrop Grumman · Aerospace · Melbourne, FL +1 · Systems/Architecture/Test

Staff GNC Engineer role at Northrop Grumman focusing on the design, development, implementation, verification, and testing of guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) algorithms and software for air vehicles. Responsibilities include developing control laws, dynamic simulation models, analyzing flight test data, and supporting design reviews. Requires a STEM degree with significant experience, a DoD Secret clearance (with ability to obtain Top Secret), and proficiency in Matlab/Simulink.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, develop, implement, verify and test algorithms, software and simulation tools to perform guidance, navigation and control (GNC).
  2. Develop control laws to meet air vehicle performance, flying qualities and stability margin requirements, both on ground and in flight.
  3. Develop air vehicle system linear and non-linear dynamic simulation models and integrate models into software and hardware-in-the-loop simulation environments.
  4. Develop analysis to support design reviews at different stages in a development program, such as PDR, CDR, etc.
  5. Analyze air vehicle flight test data and support flight test activities.
