Staff Growth Product Designer, Cross Activation

Product Designer focused on growth, activation, and early lifecycle experiences for a unified AI productivity suite. This role involves designing experiments, defining key user value moments, and crafting polished product experiences to drive adoption and engagement across multiple integrated products (Grammarly, Coda, Mail). The designer will influence the roadmap for cross-product discovery and the introduction of AI-powered features.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design impactful onboarding, activation, and engagement experiences that help users discover and adopt features across the Superhuman suite.
  2. Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Research, and Analytics to identify growth opportunities and deliver customer-centric solutions.
  3. Define and execute experiments that guide users toward meaningful “aha” moments, from early concepts and prototypes through polished, high-fidelity designs.
  4. Use qualitative and quantitative insights to improve feature discovery, habit formation, retention, and overall customer engagement.
  5. Help shape the strategy and roadmap for cross-product activation initiatives, ensuring experiences feel cohesive across Grammarly, Coda, and Mail.

Skills

Required

  • 7+ years of experience in product design
  • 3+ years focused on growth, onboarding, activation, engagement, or lifecycle experiences
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence across interaction design, visual design, prototyping, typography, layout, and systems thinking
  • Experience designing and running product experiments
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Research, and Analytics teams
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, bring clarity to complex problems, and adapt quickly
  • Deep empathy for users and a strong understanding of customer behavior, motivation, and emotional experience
  • High level of craft and attention to detail
