Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Manufacturing Engineer in Englewood, CO to develop manufacturing processes, provide guidance on design concepts, ensure regulatory compliance, and author/create manufacturing documentation. The role involves fabrication, assembly, system integration, and testing of hardware, coordinating with supply chain, reviewing designs, conceptualizing tooling, and resolving manufacturing floor issues. Requires a STEM Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience or a Master's with 10+ years, proficiency in MS Office and CAD/PLM software, and the ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Create manufacturing plans for manufacturing team to ensure that overall quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved.
  2. Create and improve manufacturing work instructions to meet challenging hardware requirements.
  3. Establish a common design goal that is aligned with the as-bid program proposal and the best approach for manufacturability through TKO (Technical Kick Off).
  4. Communicate manufacturing plans and processes to internal and external customers through MRR (Manufacturing Readiness Reviews).
  5. Create and manage Manufacturing Bill of Materials.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM discipline plus 12+ years of technical /engineering experience OR Master’s of Science Degree in a STEM discipline plus 10+ years of technical / engineering experience
  • Proven multi-tasker and self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in writing technical specifications or manufacturing work instructions.
  • Proficient in reading engineering drawings and a good understand of GD&T (Geometric Design and Tolerancing).
  • Proficiency with MS Office required, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with NX, Team center MPLM, SolidWorks, and Visio.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance & SCI Access.

Nice to have

  • Proficient in standing up manufacturing processes that do not currently exist.
  • Proficient in execution of Design for Manufacture (DFM) process with design engineering team.
  • Proficient in using Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) like Solumina, or PEO.
  • Proficient in understanding of 5S and Lean Manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Engineering experience in an ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 compliant manufacturing/fabrication work environment.
  • Familiarity with all phases of Ground Entry Point Antenna assembly and test and RF Test experience.
