Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Network Engineer in Aurora, CO to design, plan, and troubleshoot network communication systems. The role involves selecting hardware and software, maintaining expertise in network interconnections, and evaluating new technologies. Candidates must have an active TS/SCI with a full-scope polygraph and Security+ certification.

What you'd actually do

  1. design and plan network communication systems and provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture
  2. troubleshoot and isolate network faults and failures in a LAN/WAN environment
  3. provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selections, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements
  4. maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and software interconnections and interfacing, such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers etc
  5. evaluate and report on new communication technologies to enhance capabilities of the network

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM with 12+ years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree with 10+ years, or PhD with 8+ years; 14+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree requirement
  • Active TS/SCI with an adjudicated full-scope polygraph at time of application
  • Security+ certified
  • Travel a minimum of 20%
  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and software interconnections and interfacing, such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers etc
  • Wide Area Network Subject Matter Expert
  • Experience with designing additions to a large network

  • Firewall Hardware and Software Knowledge, administration, management and modifications
  • CISCO Router, Switches Hardware and Software Knowledge
  • COMSEC equipment knowledge
  • Linux and Windows knowledge
