Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Staff NPD Process Engineer in Irvine, CA, to drive new product introductions from R&D to Supply Chain. This role involves designing and developing manufacturing processes, tools, and equipment, ensuring products meet yield and capability targets, and performing process characterization and qualifications. The engineer will also write technical documentation, support lifecycle engineering, and mentor junior engineers. The role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles and practices, with a focus on manufacturability, cost reduction, and safety/environmental standards.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develops and implement processes for manufacturing new products to be introduced to the market.
  2. Works closely to transfer these newly developed processes with internal and external manufacturing sites.
  3. Responsible for the cost reductions efforts of all products, materials, and techniques using engineering principles and financial impacts.
  4. Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods and represents the organization in conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work.
  5. Responsible for the purchase or design of equipment that meets health, safety and environmental standards set by the company.
