Staff Product Manager

Brex is seeking a Staff Product Manager to define and drive multi-quarter strategy within critical product domains, leading initiatives that shape the company's trajectory. The role involves identifying high-leverage problems, framing them with rigor, and mobilizing cross-functional teams to deliver step-function improvements in customer value, revenue, efficiency, or distribution. The candidate will work with senior leaders across various departments and influence decisions beyond their immediate team.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define and own a multi-quarter product vision and strategy aligned to Brex’s highest company priorities.
  2. Identify high-leverage opportunities that create durable competitive advantage, not just incremental improvements.
  3. Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives that span multiple teams, systems, and stakeholder groups.
  4. Develop deep domain expertise in your area (e.g., financial infrastructure, risk systems, growth systems, payables ecosystem, etc.) and use it to inform product direction.
  5. Partner closely with Engineering to design scalable technical systems, engaging meaningfully in architectural discussions and tradeoffs.

Skills

Required

  • 7–10+ years of product management experience
  • Demonstrated track record of leading complex, high-impact product initiatives
  • Proven ability to define product strategy that translates into measurable business outcomes
  • Strong fluency in technical systems and architecture
  • Comfortable discussing APIs, data models, experimentation frameworks, and system tradeoffs with engineers
  • Highly data-driven
  • Strong experience defining metrics, running experiments, and using SQL (or similar tools) to guide decisions
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders through structured thinking and compelling narratives
  • Ability to reason holistically across product, technical, operational, compliance, and revenue systems
  • Demonstrated ability to raise the quality bar — for product thinking, execution, and customer experience
