Staff Product Manager, Platform & Infrastructure

Skydio · Defense · San Mateo, CA +1 · R&D

Staff Product Manager to own and execute the Cloud Platform & Infrastructure roadmap, delivering multi-cloud, multi-region, and government-compliant platform capabilities for Skydio's federal, state & local, and commercial customers. Also owns Skydio’s on-prem product line, productizing air-gapped and self-hosted deployments. This role involves turning field and sales pain into a customer-centric roadmap and driving cross-functional programs.

What you'd actually do

  1. Run discovery with government and commercial customers: Surface the “why”, build business case for investment, validate proposed solutions in the field, and help grow the business by providing platform capabilities with clearly communicated delivery expectations.
  2. Own the platform roadmap for Cloud Platform & Infrastructure: work with sales, customer success, deployment engineers, and customers to convert recurring pain and opportunities into a prioritized, outcome-focused platform roadmap with clear user stories and success criteria.
  3. Productize and deliver Skydio On-Prem: define the roadmap for air-gapped and self-hosted offerings; lead cross-functional delivery (engineering, SRE, security, legal, GTM); own releases, onboarding/runbooks and launch artifacts; run pilots/rollouts to cut time-to-deploy and manual effort while preserving a secure, frictionless experience; and support exponential growth in the national security dock business.
  4. Drive compliance and certification programs (FedRAMP, CJIS, and other regulatory frameworks): translate compliance requirements into product, engineering, and operational requirements; run cross-functional programs to achieve and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) and other certifications.
  5. Release & expectation management: Coordinate release planning, cut-downs and “what’s in/what’s out” decisions, and communicate release tradeoffs to internal teams and customers. Ensure customer feedback and bug reports are tracked and routed into the right engineering backlog.
