Staff Product Manger

ClickUp ClickUp · Enterprise · United States · Product

Staff Product Manager at ClickUp, a company building a converged AI workspace. The role focuses on defining and owning product areas, driving strategic alignment, and building AI workflows to scale impact. The PM will act as a builder, prototyping and iterating with AI tools, and mentoring other PMs. This role is for someone experienced with AI tooling and actively finding new ways to scale their own coverage through it.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define and own a cross-functional problem space or a foundational platform area whose quality shapes outcomes across multiple product surfaces.
  2. Drive strategic alignment across product areas. Identify the decisions that unblock the most work and make them.
  3. Synthesize signals from customer calls, data, support trends, and partner feedback across your entire scope, not just your immediate surface.
  4. Prototype cross-cutting workflows and concepts yourself. The strategy is more credible when you have already tested it.
  5. Identify leverage and share it. Build AI workflows, frameworks, and patterns that other PMs on the team can adopt.

Skills

Required

  • 6-8+ years in product management, with a clear record of operating across multiple product areas or owning a foundational platform.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional alignment without authority, across engineering, design, data, and GTM.
  • Systems thinker. You see second-order effects and account for them before they become problems.
  • Able to hold strategy and execution at the same time. You do not hand off the detail when the scope gets bigger.
  • Track record of mentoring and elevating other PMs, not just shipping your own work.
  • Strong data instincts. You can pull your own analysis, define the right metrics, and spot when a number is telling the wrong story.
  • Proven communicator at the executive level. You can frame a complex problem crisply and land a recommendation with senior stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • Experienced with AI tooling and actively finding new ways to scale your own coverage through it.
  • Generate artifacts that accelerate alignment. Leverage AI to draft PRDs, map user flows, validate product launch readiness, synthesize research and customer feedback, produce competitive analyses, and write release notes.
  • Prototype and iterate with AI coding tools. Build functional prototypes independently of design and engineering using tools like Cursor or Claude Code.
  • QA your own work. Use browser automation tools to test flows, verify edge cases, and confirm what shipped matches what was specced.
  • Familiarity with tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Figma AI, and MCP integrations is expected. Actively experiment and fold new capabilities into your workflow.

What the JD emphasized

  • AI has collapsed the work that used to sit between an idea and a working version of it, and for the first time, PMs can be true builders.
  • The PMs who win in this era do not manage the work. They build the product, every day, with their own hands.
  • You scale impact by inventing leverage that other PMs adopt, wiring up AI workflows that keep you current on more signals than any one person could manually track.
  • Experienced with AI tooling and actively finding new ways to scale your own coverage through it.
