Staff Experience Researcher role within PayPal’s EMEA Markets team, part of Global Customer Insights. Leads market research across EMEA, with a focus on Germany, to uncover customer attitudes, competitive dynamics, and trends. Will lead quantitative market research programs, from opportunity scoping and launch diagnostics to concept tests and conjoint studies. Insights will influence product roadmaps, go-to-market decisions, and leadership priorities tied to business outcomes.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop clear plans and priorities to gather insights and make data-driven decisions to meet team performance
  2. Perform more-complex analysis using highly specialized product knowledge and advanced business expertise
  3. Lead functional projects and programs that enhance user experiences based on research findings.
  4. Design methodologies including user testing, surveys and data analysis understanding of business needs and industry trends
  5. Develop and implement research methodologies that optimize user testing and data collection processes.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice to have

  • 7+ years of experience in market research, customer insights, or a closely related field, with a proven track record of delivering strategic, business-impacting insights.
  • Deep expertise in quantitative market research methodologies – concept tests, conjoint analysis, MaxDiff, discrete choice modeling, segmentation, and advanced survey design.
  • Strong analytical skills including statistical analysis, data interpretation, and the ability to integrate primary and secondary data sources (e.g., Qualtrics, SPSS, Python/R, Tableau/Power BI).
  • Experience working with EMEA/Germany markets and a strong understanding of regional consumer behavior, regulatory context, and cultural nuances.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional and senior decision-makers.
  • Familiarity with financial services, payments, or fintech consumer landscapes in EMEA.
