Google is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Data Center Resource Modeling team. This role involves designing and building a platform for managing Google-wide data center fleet deployment planning, capacity planning, hardware monitoring, and machine lifecycle management. The engineer will provide technical leadership, define roadmaps, and drive innovation for new hardware platforms while reducing operational costs. The team focuses on AI and Infrastructure, aiming to redefine possibilities by delivering AI and Infrastructure at scale, efficiency, and reliability.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects.
  2. Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.
  3. Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
  4. Assess impact to team software stack from new hardware product programs and explore AI driven process improvement and automation.
  5. Establish technology and product goals in collaboration with other tech leads, managers, partners, clients, and executive leadership. Grow technical skills within the team.
