Anduril Anduril · Defense · Costa Mesa, CA · Maritime & Maneuver Dominance : Maneuver Dominance Engineering : MD - EE

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company seeking a Staff Structural Engineer for their Omen autonomous air vehicle (AAV) program. The role involves performing structural analyses, developing FEM, collaborating with hardware engineers, documenting results, and supporting testing. Requires a BS or higher in engineering with a focus on structures, deep understanding of mechanics, FEA software proficiency, CAD skills, and programming in Matlab or Python. Experience with structural testing and obtaining a US Top Secret clearance is necessary. Preferred qualifications include extensive experience, subject matter expertise, and experience with high cycle fatigue.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform static and dynamic structural analyses of composites and metallics using first principles and appropriate analysis methods (hand calculations, spreadsheets, scripts, detailed FEA)
  2. Develop and own FEM creation and organization at the global and subsystem level
  3. Collaborate with hardware engineers to drive proper designs based on analytical results
  4. Document analysis methodology and results in technical reports for internal teams and external stakeholders
  5. Conduct and support validation testing, including instrumentation requirements, load requirements, data collection, and model correlation
