Staff System Engineer - Av Labs
Uber's AV Labs is seeking a Staff System Engineer to develop and deploy ML models for autonomous driving systems. This role involves improving the performance and reliability of the AV software stack and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions.
What you'd actually do
- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and algorithms for autonomous driving systems.
- Improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of our AV software stack.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Perception, Prediction, Planning) to integrate AI solutions into the AV product.
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of AI models and systems in simulation and real-world scenarios.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and autonomous driving technologies.
Skills
Required
- Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in production.
- Strong understanding of deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Experience with C++ and Python programming languages.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
- Familiarity with autonomous driving technologies and challenges.
Nice to have
- Experience with simulation environments for AV testing.
- Knowledge of robotics and control systems.
- Publications in top-tier AI/ML conferences.
