Northrop Grumman is seeking a Program Deputy Chief Engineer for a well-established space program. This role involves leading system definition, technical planning, and execution for an operational fleet of vehicles, integrating new capabilities, and shaping future business areas. The position requires strong systems engineering experience, leadership of multi-disciplined teams, and excellent communication skills, with a focus on ensuring adherence to engineering and configuration management processes. A Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Developing and maintaining a strong PMO and customer relationship to ensure that all stakeholder needs, goals and objectives are taken into account.
  2. Leading a multi-disciplined engineering team and manages the technical performance of the program including cost and schedule requirements for both internal work and subcontracted elements.
  3. Coordinating engineering responses to issues, anomalies or changes in customer direction within the on-orbit fleet
  4. Ensuring that the program is adhering to sound engineering and configuration management processes in the development, production, test, and sustainment of products for our customers and is compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  5. Maintaining cognizance over technical activities within program IPTs and ensures horizontal integration of the best engineering practices across the company.

Skills

Required

  • BS in Engineering or related technical field & 12 years’ experience, or Masters Degree & 10 years’ experience, or Ph.D. & 8 years’ experience

  • Technical Leadership experience on space-based systems with space, ground, launch and segments
  • Experience and/or training in Earned Value Management Systems
