Staff UX Designer for Google Beam, an AI-first 3D video communication platform. The role involves designing new platform experiences, bridging aesthetics and movement, prototyping, and crafting narratives for 3D and AI products. Responsibilities include defining product strategy, creating concept reels and motion mockups, authoring a motion language, and resolving spatial design challenges. Requires experience in product design with a focus on hybrid visual and motion design, and familiarity with 3D design tools. Experience using Generative AI for creative concepting is preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define and galvanize the long-term product and user experience strategy for the Beam platform, driving alignment among cross-functional leaders.
  2. Pioneer the cinematic future of the platform by creating concept reels and high-fidelity motion mockups as a hybrid motion and visual specialist.
  3. Author a premium motion language and establish standards for visual and motion systems within 3D environments to ensure a cohesive identity.
  4. Partner with User Research to evaluate the emotional resonance and usability of premium motion and visual patterns through high-fidelity simulations.
  5. Resolve highly ambiguous spatial design challenges, including geospatial design and depth-based visual hierarchy, employing rapid high-fidelity visualization to scale features.
