Startup Field Marketing Lead

This role focuses on scaling OpenAI's global field marketing strategy for startups, designing and executing programs to drive awareness, adoption, and relationships with AI-native companies. It involves owning flagship events, building a repeatable marketing engine, and collaborating with various teams to position OpenAI as the platform of choice for founders.

What you'd actually do

  1. Influence and own the strategy, planning, and execution of OpenAI’s flagship startup events, including DevDay, Founder Days, and scaled builder programs.
  2. Drive end-to-end event execution, including audience strategy, programming, content, logistics, and post-event follow-through.
  3. Collaborate with operations teams to build scalable systems, processes, and tooling to support global program execution.
  4. Identify and activate high-leverage ecosystem opportunities (conferences, VC partnerships, builder communities) to expand OpenAI’s reach.
  5. Define and track success metrics across programs – including pipeline, adoption, and engagement – using insights to continuously improve impact.

Skills

Required

  • 8-10+ years of experience in field marketing, product marketing, or integrated marketing in B2B space, preferably working with startups and developers.
  • Proven experience operating as a senior individual contributor, owning large-scale programs end-to-end with minimal oversight.
  • Data-driven approach to decision-making, with experience measuring ROI, pipeline impact, and program performance.
  • Highly operational with the ability to manage complex programs and multiple stakeholders simultaneously.

Nice to have
