Strategic Account Executive for Carta's Private Equity team, focused on selling fund administration software and services to Private Equity and Private Credit Funds. The role involves communicating business impact, influencing decision-makers, owning sales cycles, building industry networks, and driving revenue through strategic outbound prospecting.

What you'd actually do

  1. Communicate the business impact of our full product offerings to key decision makers
  2. Demonstrate ability to influence through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus-building to identify and sell new opportunities
  3. Own sales cycles that could be up to 12+ months
  4. Understand customer needs and requirements and act as a trusted business advisor
  5. Build and expand a network across the industry to enhance Carta's visibility and create new business opportunities

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years of sales experience
  • Minimum 5 years selling into Private Equity funds at a Fund Administrator (or Fund Administration adjacent company)
  • Experience with, and potentially existing contacts within, the private capital markets community (lawyers, investors, bankers, accountants, etc.) as well as within the General Partner / Limited Partner / PortCo communities.
  • In-depth understanding of fund structures (Private Equity, Venture Capital, or Private Credit)
  • Experience managing a pipeline and closing large contracts
  • Proven ability to execute, especially negotiation and closing
  • Intellectually curious, fast learner

Nice to have

  • Experience in venture capital, private equity, institutional investing, wealth management, or high growth fintech
  • Relevant sales experience in a SaaS or financial services organization
