Strategic Account Executive (sled)

Datadog is seeking an experienced Strategic Account Executive (SLED) to join their sales team. The role involves prospecting into large State, Local, and Education organizations, building relationships, negotiating deals, and ensuring forecasting accuracy. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of closing experience, with 2-3+ years specifically in SLED/Gov sales, and a proven track record of meeting sales goals in innovative tech companies. The role requires travel and focuses on selling Datadog's observability and security platform.

What you'd actually do

  1. Prospect into large State, Local, and Education organizations while running an efficient sales process
  2. Maintain, build and own specific relationship maps for your territory including existing relationships and aspirational contacts
  3. Develop a deep comprehension of customer's business
  4. Negotiate favorable pricing and business terms with large SLED enterprises by selling value and ROI
  5. Handle existing customer expectations while expanding reach and depth into assigned territory

  • 5+ years closing experience
  • 2-3+ years of SLED/Gov sales experience
  • Proven track record of meeting sales goals
  • Ability to prospect and build pipeline independently
