Strategic Account Manager for Merck's Companion Animal Health AU, responsible for developing and executing strategic plans to maximize value and growth of key accounts (Retailers and Onliners). The role involves understanding account needs, market trends, and company capabilities to create tailored solutions, drive brand activity and sales, and achieve sales targets. Requires strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen, relationship management, and collaboration with internal teams.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead and develop strong, enduring relationships with nominated strategic accounts (Retailers and Onliners) at multiple levels across the customer organisation that create alignment and growth across AU
  2. Create and execute strategic account growth plans aligned to account category objectives and company goals
  3. Drive sales growth within key accounts through upselling, cross-selling, renewals and targeted campaigns
  4. Partner with Field Services Veterinarians to develop and deliver technical education and messaging to strategic accounts and their customers
  5. Monitor competitors and recommend actions to grow market share
