DoorDash is seeking a Strategic Merchant Lead to drive new business acquisition and deepen restaurant selection in key markets. This field sales role manages an end-to-end outbound sales cycle, prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and closing new restaurant partnerships. The role collaborates cross-functionally to structure economic terms and solve merchant needs, playing a pivotal role in shaping the dining landscape by bringing desirable restaurants onto the DoorDash platform.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own a full outbound sales cycle from prospecting to close for SMB and Local Hero/Premium restaurants.
  2. Drive 150–200+ weekly outreach activities (calls, emails, in-person visits) and maintain a highly organized 3-4 week sales cycle.
  3. Close ~16–17 deals per month while spending ~40% of your time in the field meeting restaurant owners.
  4. Pitch the full DoorDash suite (Marketplace, DashPass, Storefront) and communicate ROI effectively.
  5. Structure creative, nuanced revenue-share agreements and negotiate competitive economic terms.
