Strategic Partner Development, Product Partnerships - Cybersecurity

Anthropic Anthropic · AI Frontier · San Francisco, CA · AI Research & Engineering

This role focuses on building strategic partnerships within the cybersecurity industry to support Anthropic's product strategy. The individual will act as a domain expert, identify and engage with key partners, and facilitate collaborations that may involve product integrations. While technical fluency in AI/ML is required for credible engagement, the core function is product partnerships and business development within the security sector, not direct AI/ML model development or deployment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Research, source, structure, and close strategic collaborations across the security ecosystem — working closely with internal teams to shape what we pursue and why.
  2. Serve as Anthropic's internal voice on security partnerships — helping research, product, and Anthropic leadership understand the landscape, evaluate opportunities, and make good calls.
  3. Map the sector and sequence the highest-impact organizations to engage. Build a pipeline with a clear point of view on where to focus and where to say no.
  4. Drive partnerships through R&D, IT, legal, compliance, and procurement — with a realistic view of how these deals actually get done.
  5. Where partnerships include product or platform integrations, work with partner engineering teams and hold the quality bar.

Skills

Required

  • Minimum 10 years of experience inside the security industry — partnerships, BD, alliances, product partnerships, or comparable.
  • Deep ecosystem familiarity across SIEM/SOAR, EDR/XDR, identity, cloud/workload security, GRC, or AI-native security startups.
  • Track record landing complex, multi-stakeholder partnerships — integration deals, ecosystem programs, or major vendor partnerships in security specifically.
  • Entrepreneurial operating style.
  • Technical fluency in security workflows and AI/ML — enough to engage credibly with CISOs, security architects, and product leaders.
  • Fluency in the regulatory and compliance environment that shapes enterprise security buying (SOC 2, FedRAMP, ISO 27001, sectoral regs).
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills — comfort working with technical research and product teams and translating across business, engineering, and policy.

Nice to have

  • Experience building or operating an ecosystem program or developer/community function in security
  • An existing network across SIEM, EDR, identity, cloud security, and the AI-native security startup cohort

What the JD emphasized

  • Minimum 10 years of experience inside the security industry — partnerships, BD, alliances, product partnerships, or comparable. This is the single most important requirement. We need someone who can operate independently in the security ecosystem from day one, not learn it on the job.
  • Fluency in the regulatory and compliance environment that shapes enterprise security buying (SOC 2, FedRAMP, ISO 27001, sectoral regs).
