Strategic Planning Manager, Genai, Deepmind (fixed-term Contract)

Google Google · Big Tech · Mountain View, CA +3

This role is a Strategic Planning Manager for GenAI within DeepMind, focusing on re-engineering operational processes like headcount and OpEx management into AI-driven workflows. The manager will develop automation tools, optimize resource allocation, and use agentic frameworks to automate transaction workflows and resolve common questions. While the role uses AI concepts and tools, it does not involve shipping AI models or agents as its core craft.

What you'd actually do

  1. Run day-to-day headcount planning, forecasting, and operational processes for the GenAI unit. Maintain a real-time source of truth for headcount grants, asks, and allocations.
  2. Design and refine headcount agents (using frameworks like Jetski) to automate transaction workflows. Improve location, skills, and organizational strategy through deep analysis and hypothesis-based problem-solving.
  3. Partner with finance and area leads on disciplined opex planning and forecasting. Evaluate team spend requests against primary research priorities.
  4. Codevelop auto-responder agents to resolve common opex and headcount questions.
  5. Present quarterly business resource dashboards and migrate static reporting into automated, agentic pings. Streamline workflows and build reusable workloads in monthly "StratOps FixIt" sessions.
