This role is for a Strategic Sourcing Buyer at RTX, a large aerospace and defense company. The primary responsibilities include managing supplier communications, contributing to and executing commodity strategies, sourcing for production and development, managing price books and cost variances, analyzing demand and pricing, reviewing supplier performance, supporting design activities, identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities, reducing weight and cost with suppliers, ensuring supplier readiness for production, supporting tactical procurement, identifying and mitigating supply chain risks, and developing commodity strategies. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent, a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in sourcing and supplier management, cost management, materials management (MRP, ERP), and experience in a global purchasing environment. Additional requirements include proficiency in Microsoft Office, excellent interpersonal skills, and a clean disciplinary and performance record.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manage effective communication with tactical counterpart.
  2. Use knowledge and supplier dealings to input into commodity strategy.
  3. Execute commodity strategy.
  4. Support Galley enablement.
  5. Sourcing Process RFQ and cost data for production and development Galleys, including any pricing disputes and PPV.

Skills

Required

  • Graduate of any Bachelor’s / College Degree in Engineering, Business Studies/Administration/ Management or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience.
  • Experience in sourcing and supplier management, including implementing cost savings
  • Confidence with cost management
  • Materials Management background MRP, ERP software.
  • Experience in a Materials Management or similar role.
  • Previous experience within a global purchasing environment, implementing strategies
  • Proven track record of achievement in a relevant position
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly data and cost management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must not have had any disciplinary case within the past year
  • Must not be under Performance Improvement Plan
  • With at least a year in his/her current position
