Strategic Sourcing Lead - Millennium Space Systems

Lead strategic sourcing for a small satellite company, focusing on supplier development, cost reduction, supply chain risk mitigation, and compliance with aerospace/defense regulations (FAR/DFARS, CPSR).

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead strategic supplier development to meet cost, quality, delivery, and agreement targets that support increased ramp up and production rates
  2. Build and maintain cross functional relationships with Program Management, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Operations to identify and engage critical suppliers
  3. Manage multiple commodity categories (mechanical, electronics, raw materials, etc.) and develop new sources of supply
  4. Drive implementation of long-term agreements (LTAs, BPAs, TA’s, MOU’s) and establish clear supplier relationship frameworks
  5. Support make/buy decisions and risk mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of supply

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in: Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years' of experience sourcing, including ≥3 years in a supplier development role
  • Strong knowledge of FAR/DFARS, supplier agreements, and CPSR compliant procurement practices
  • Experience managing multiple commodities and supplier bases in an aerospace or defense environment
  • Strong price, terms and delivery negotiation experience
  • Strong executive presence and ability to present strategy and technical information for alignment and approval at multiple organizational levels
  • Proficiency in PPT, Excel and Microsoft Office Suite

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in business or supply chain management
  • APICS/ASCM or CPSM certification
  • Demonstrated success implementing strategic sourcing and supplier development programs
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence and engage at all organizational levels
