This role is for a Strategic Sourcing Manager at AMD, responsible for managing contract manufacturers, total cost, and supplier performance. The role involves developing global procurement strategies, negotiating commercial agreements, and managing supplier relationships to ensure cost, quality, and service targets are met. It requires strong analytical, negotiation, and project management skills, with experience in the semiconductor or EMS sector being preferred. The role is not directly involved in AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Collaborate with key stakeholder(s) to understand and set cost targets for managed categories or CMs; Lead RFX process, analysis and price negotiation, cost reduction and business awards for key suppliers / CMs
  2. Lead Supplier Performance Management (SPM) with key suppliers/CMs and manage the scorecard to review cost, technology, quality, service, and flexibility.
  3. Negotiating commercial agreements with suppliers, including unit pricing, NRE, CapEx and other agreements as applicable.
  4. Manage and drive supplier's performance to contractual requirements which meet AMD’s short and long term needs. Where applicable, implement contracts to minimize AMD’s risk and enable supplier accountability for non-performance
  5. Identification and mitigation of potential supply continuity risks by implementing appropriate risk management strategies and contingency plans
