Strategy and Analytics Lead - Windows Commercial

This role is responsible for shaping the strategy and planning for Microsoft's Windows and Surface businesses, specifically focusing on commercial growth, subscription monetization, and positioning Windows as the platform of choice for enterprise organizations. The Lead will define and drive the multi-year commercial growth strategy, identify new monetization opportunities, and develop data-driven insights into enterprise customer behavior and competitive dynamics. The role requires strong strategic thinking, commercial/enterprise software fluency, and analytical excellence, with regular exposure to senior leadership.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the multi-year commercial growth strategy for Windows in the enterprise, including segmentation, monetization, pricing constructs, and go-to-market motions across direct, partner, and OEM channels.
  2. Define and accelerate Windows & Microsoft services and subscription strategy in commercial, identifying new monetization opportunities, attach motions, and customer lifecycle plays.
  3. Develop a deep, data-driven understanding of the enterprise customer, buying patterns, deployment behaviors, competitive dynamics, and willingness-to-pay, and translate insight into prioritized strategic bets.
  4. Build the analytical foundation for commercial decision-making, including market sizing, scenario modeling, financial impact analysis, and KPI frameworks. Partner with Finance and Data Science on rigorous quantitative inputs.
  5. Frame and present strategic recommendations to the Windows + Devices CVP, the Marketing leadership team, and cross-org senior partners. Translate complex analyses into crisp, decision-ready narratives.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years experience in commercial strategy, business strategy, corporate development, or management consulting, with meaningful time spent on B2B / enterprise software businesses, or related experience

  • 8+ years experience in commercial strategy, business strategy, corporate development, or management consulting, with meaningful time spent on B2B / enterprise software businesses, or related experience
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), or related field
  • 6+ years experience in commercial strategy, business strategy, corporate development, or management consulting, with meaningful time spent on B2B / enterprise software businesses, or related experience
  • Demonstrated experience with services or subscription business models, including pricing, packaging, monetization, and customer lifecycle analytics.
  • Enterprise / commercial business fluency, understanding of how large organizations buy, deploy, and renew commercial software and devices.
  • Proven analytical skills, comfortable building financial models, sizing markets, structuring ambiguous problems, and pressure-testing assumptions.
  • Track record of influencing senior executives and driving alignment across cross-functional, matrixed organizations.
  • Prior experience in a strategy consulting firm, investment bank, or corporate strategy function at a major B2B / SaaS company.
  • Experience with Windows, Microsoft 365, or commercial PC ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft's commercial sales motion (EA, CSP, MCA-E) and partner ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated executive communication skills, both written narratives and live presentations.
