Strategy Manager role focused on identifying, evaluating, and selecting emerging connectivity technologies, network architectures, and startup ecosystems to enhance digital and site connectivity capabilities for Caterpillar. This role involves technology scouting, strategic analysis, and investment advisory to inform M&A, partnerships, and internal development, ultimately shaping the company's competitive advantage in connectivity and digital solutions.

What you'd actually do

  1. Set the long‑term strategic vision for Connectivity, defining where Caterpillar must be positioned into the future.
  2. Lead external market and technology intelligence, tracking industry trends, emerging technologies, regulatory shifts, and customer needs.
  3. Scout the ecosystem for startups, partners, OEMs, and technology providers relevant to Caterpillar’s connectivity goals.
  4. Analyze the competitive ecosystem, identifying threats, disruptive entrants, and whitespace opportunities across connectivity, autonomy, and digital services.
  5. Build evaluation frameworks to compare technologies and startups based on maturity, scalability, fit, risk, and value.
