About the Role
We are hiring an exceptional Strategy & Planning Lead to spearhead our efforts in the Portuguese market. As the lead for Portugal, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the country’s strategy and growth trajectory, leading high-impact initiatives, and acting as a key advisor to the Delivery leadership team.
This challenge requires a sophisticated blend of structured problem-solving, data-backed decision making and execution, cross-functional leadership and project management.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Strategic Advisory: Serve as a strategic advisor to the Portugal Delivery leadership team on top-of-mind strategic initiatives, taking ownership of end-to-end problem statements, influencing critical stakeholders, and driving decisions at the highest levels of the organization.
- Planning & Governance: Own & drive governance and planning initiatives for the Portugal Business, ensuring alignment with regional / global approaches and objectives & ensuring strong representation of the business in critical forums.
- Strategic Intelligence: Own the localized intelligence roadmap for Portugal, leading the creation of executive-level dashboards and reporting. You will bridge the gap between market research and execution, driving actionable insights that shape our competitive positioning and long-term growth.
- Data-Driven Problem-Solving: Apply structured problem-solving approaches & frameworks, enriched by robust data analysis to tackle new and ambiguous problem statements, while bringing in best practice from experts in other regions & functions
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with local and regional teams (Operations, Finance, Legal, Policy, etc.) to design, launch, and execute cross-functional programs aimed at achieving critical business outcomes.
- Zero to One Initiatives: Take top-of-mind strategic initiatives from zero to one, building them from the ground up and guiding them through to successful implementation.
- Stakeholder Influence and Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders, effectively influencing and managing their expectations to ensure alignment and support for strategic initiatives.
What the Candidate Will Need
- 5+ years of experience in strategy, operations, or consultancy
- Native Portuguese speaker and full proficiency in English
- Full proficiency in Google Slides and Sheets (e.g. building dashboards)
- High degree of business and financial acumen and comfort using analytics to solve problems
- A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and excels at tackling unprecedented challenges in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear, concise, and practical solutions
- Outstanding communication and storytelling abilities to articulate complex ideas and concepts in a compelling and engaging manner
- Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to project management, driving the successful completion of complex programs
Bonus Points
- Preferred background and expertise includes: consulting in MBB, strategy in big tech / scale-ups
- SQL knowledge and Vibe coding (Lovable, Claude) is advantageous
- Genuine interest and fascination with the online food delivery industry and desire to understand each aspect of the marketplace and Uber’s business strategy
