What you'd actually do

  1. Reviews and approves engineering data that supports airframe repairs and service bulletins for Boeing aircraft
  2. Performs detailed structural analysis (static strength, durability/fatigue and damage tolerance) to determine structural integrity (margins of safety), using classical techniques and Boeing tools. This analysis supports responses to customer inquiries, service bulletin development, failure investigation, regulatory agency coordination and to show compliance with regulatory requirements
  3. Researches and prepares data to support definition of structural design requirements
  4. Provides expertise to respond to customer inquiries and investigate failures to maintain continued airworthiness/mission capability
  5. Responds to emergent requests for safety of flight decisions

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 5+ years of experience in structural analysis

Nice to have

  • 9 or more years’ of experience with structural analysis methods and repair principles (e.g., fatigue and corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, repair techniques, damage tolerance methods used in maintenance programs).
  • 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 14 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical Knowledge in system controls, mechanical systems, systems modeling, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
  • Willing and able to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally.
