Structural Analysis Engineer responsible for verifying structural integrity using analytical methods, finite element models, and simulations throughout the product lifecycle for current and emerging aircraft programs within the Air Dominance division.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop, integrate and document structural requirements to establish the system design
  2. Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment
  3. Guide product design and verify structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance
  4. Develop test plans and configurations, support test execution and analyze/report test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
  5. Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (Level 3)
  • 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (Level 4)
  • Experience performing hand calculations
  • using industry CAD system (NX/Teamcenter)
  • FEM software (ABAQUS, PATRAN/NASTRAN, Stresscheck, Hyperworks)
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance
  • US Citizenship

Nice to have

  • Experience with Boeing Analysis Tools (CAESAR, Lifeworks, Mechanica, Common Structures Workstation)
  • Structural analysis experience on military or commercial aircraft
