Boeing is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer (Lead and Senior) for their Air Vehicle Engineering team in Oklahoma City. The role involves leading the development, integration, and documentation of structural requirements, guiding product design, verifying structural integrity using analytical methods and finite element models, and supporting in-service products. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, experience with classical hand analysis and FEM, and 10+ years of structural analysis experience. Experience with FAA/Mil Certification and aircraft primary structures is preferred. A U.S. Security Clearance is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Leads development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the product's environment.
  2. Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
  3. Leads development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  4. Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
  5. Supports in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • Experience with Classical Hand Analysis Methods
  • Experience with Finite Element Models (FEM)
  • Able to independently construct, execute, review, and manage structural finite element models
  • 10 or more years of experience in structural analysis

Nice to have

  • 15 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Active U.S. Secret Clearance
  • Experience with Hypermesh, Abaqus CAE, and/or Nastran
  • Experience validating or verifying finite element model results
  • Experience with FAA and/or Mil Certification
  • Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
  • Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures (e.g., fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, and repair techniques)
  • Experience with Aircraft Primary Structures on Boeing Commercial Derivatives – Commercial and/or Military applications (737, 747, 757, 767 & 777)
